Sunday School & Young People Leadership Training

On Saturday, 9 October 2026, Sunday School Coordinators and Young People Leaders gathered for a leadership training session focused on strengthening leadership skills and equipping leaders to serve their teams more effectively within the New Apostolic Church. The training session was held in Dellville Park Congregation in George and was broadcast via Zoom across the District Church to various hybrid venues. Priest Ruben Scheepers led the session.

The training centred on two key topics: Building a Team and Coaching a Team, highlighting the importance of collaboration, communication, and developing the potential of every team member.

The session on Building a Team emphasised the value of working together towards a common goal, fostering trust, and creating an environment in which every member feels valued and supported. Leaders were encouraged to recognise individual strengths and promote unity in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The topic of Coaching a Team focused on guiding, encouraging, and empowering team members to grow in their roles. Through effective coaching, leaders can help others identify their strengths, overcome challenges, and develop the confidence to fulfil their responsibilities.

The training served as a valuable opportunity for leaders to reflect on their leadership approaches and gain insights into building stronger, more effective teams. By applying these principles, Sunday School Coordinators and Young People Leaders can continue to create supportive environments that encourage growth, collaboration, and meaningful service within the Church.

As leaders continue their work, the training reinforced an important message: effective leadership is not only about guiding others but also about building a team in which everyone is encouraged and empowered to grow together.
