Sunday School Leadership Training

The New Apostolic Church Southern Africa conducted a Sunday School Leadership Training session on Saturday, 15 November 2025, from 09h00 to 13h00. The event was hosted in person at the New Apostolic Church Langebaan Congregation, West Coast Apostle Area, with several hybrid venues across the District Apostle Area connected virtually via Microsoft Teams. This multi-site format enabled widespread participation and ensured that leaders throughout the region could benefit from a unified training experience.

The session commenced with an opening prayer and words of welcome by Apostle Gavin van der Hoven. The Apostle emphasised the importance of continuous development within the Sunday School leadership structure and expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of those who work to nurture the faith of the Church’s children.

Deacon Reuben Scheepers, who facilitated the session, introduced the day’s theme, “Review & Plan”, which served as the central focus of the training.

A comprehensive overview was presented on how structured reflection and effective forward planning can strengthen Sunday School programmes and enhance the overall learning environment.

Participants took part in group activities designed to apply the principles discussed. Each group shared their insights and recommendations, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment for shared learning.

To conclude the programme, attendees participated in an interactive quiz via Mentimeter. This activity reinforced key concepts, assessed understanding, and encouraged active engagement.

Apostle van der Hoven expressed sincere appreciation to all participants, both those attending in person and those joining from hybrid venues, for their commitment and willingness to invest time in strengthening the Sunday School. He concluded the training session with a closing prayer.
