On Sunday 7 July 2024, District Apostle Peter Lambert conducted the divine service for the departed in Still Bay in the Southern Cape.
He was accompanied by Apostle J Cronje and the District Rectors of the Southern Cape Apostle Area.
Invited to the divine service were the congregations of Still Bay, Melkhoutfontein, Melkhoutkraal, Dassieklip, Vermaaklikheid and Koringplaas.
The Bible text for the divine service was Psalm 107:19–20: "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions."
Priest E Jewel, the District Rector of Beaufort West, and Apostle J Cronje were called to serve at the altar.
For the acts of Holy Baptism, Holy Sealing and Holy Communion, District Elder C Dreyer and Priest G Joseph stood as proxies for the souls in yonder world.
A powerful rendition of “When He Cometh” concluded the festive divine service, whereafter the District Apostle invited the congregation to greet before everyone departed for their various destinations.
