After much planning, the vibrant atmosphere and "gees" could be felt as the members couldn't wait to serve God's people and have experiences of faith. On Sunday morning 21 April 2024, the members, and ministers departed from Westgate Congregation for a one day mission trip to Ceres.
Fostering new friendships and enjoying the fellowship along the way, they head to Ceres, the destination. indeed, thankful for God's grace. The members gathered at the VGK Church Hall upon arrival and got ready for the divine service.
The members attended divine services at the Bella Vista, Ceres, and Hamlet congregations, where divine services were officiated by Shepherd Shawn Adonis, Community Evangelist Mark Willis and Priest Randall Adams, respectively.
The services were based on the Bible text, Ephesians 1:22–23.
The choirs and orchestras ended the divine service with a powerful anthem that certainly set the tone for the rest of the joyous day. Thereafter, the members had the opportunity to meet and greet members of the area where they took some photographs while enjoying refreshments and fellowship.
Reunited at Bella Vista Congregation, the choir commenced with a final rehearsal for the music hour taking place later today.
The members at the old age home, "Huis Peter Strauss," where beautiful gifts were handed over to the seniors.
The choir furthermore created a warm and joyous atmosphere by rendering a few hymns sung out of love.
The seniors and caregivers of Huis Peter Strauss were filled with much appreciation.
A monetary donation was also handed over to Masakhe. The members of Ceres touched hearts with their warm welcome and for sharing in a memorable day filled with much fellowship and a sense of spiritual upliftment.
Shepherd Shawn Adonis thanked each one that had a role in making this mission trip possible, and, before departure, there was a celebration. Members took the opportunity to wish the couple well as they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on the day.
Then members boarded the buses en route homebound.
