Southern Africa
On Saturday 20 April 2024, District Apostle Peter Lambert and the Apostles from Southern Africa gathered at Olympus Congregation for an evening of diverse musical performances, that deeply resonated with attendees.
Starting with the hymn, "Mighty God, we praise Thy name," the choir and organ set a tone of spiritual reflection. A special highlight was "Viktoria, my Jesus leef!" arranged exclusively for this concert by John Rodriques, performed by the choir, piano, and orchestra. Another outstanding performance by a soprano, choir and orchestra was "O rejoice, that the Lord has arisen".
Throughout the music hour, compositions like the soul-stirring "Indodana" and Johann Sebastian Bach's "Fugue in D Major" showcased varied musical talents, including a touching contribution from the children's choir with renditions of "A Prayer" and "God loves us all." The concert culminated with the powerful, "Great I am (Holy, holy, holy)," featuring the combined voices of the choir and orchestra.
The music hour was a unifying journey of spiritual expression through music and devotion.
