On Sunday 30 October 2016, retired Community Evangelist Roger Von Schaeffer and his wife Virginia received their 50th wedding anniversary blessing out of the hand of the Apostle NT Nene in the Victoria Park congregation. 

The Apostle was accompanied by the Bishop WN Von Schaeffer – the son of the couple. Their unwavering faith, countless sacrifices in the work of the Lord and their unending love towards each other, remain an inspiration to the congregation. They ascribe the secret to their successful marriage to the fact that they were always three in one – husband, wife and God.  They acknowledge that without God nothing could have been possible and therefore all honour and praises belong to Him. Humour remains their antidote for stress.
