On Sunday 24 September 2023, the congregation of Florida celebrated the 50th anniversary of the church building. The church was inaugurated on 19 September 1973, by District Apostle Karl Gut.

The celebrations started on a high note with a divine service conducted by Priest Dion Miller, the Rector of the congregation. The congregation consisted of many who had a special connection to Florida, including previous Rectors who served in the congregation. 

After the divine service, the Rector reflected on the history of the congregation, making reference to different pioneers who were part of the congregation for many years. A special documentary consisting of interviews of past and present members of the congregation was shown to the congregation.

The congregation had an opportunity for fellowship, while the previous Rectors took part in the cake-cutting ceremony.

To continue the celebration, a special music choral took place, rendered by the choir and orchestra of the congregation, with some members from neighbouring congregations.
