On Wednesday 8 February 2017, brother Jannie Oosthuizen celebrated his 80th birthday in Gezina Congregation, Pretoria.
He has been a member of the congregation from the day he was born, making him the longest living member of the congregation. He received well wishes from the Rector, Shepherd JP van der Schyff, while surrounded by his family and the congregation.
