Kuils River Bishop Area had a Health and Wellness Day for their seniors on Saturday 6 June 2015 at the Sarepta Community Hall.

The invitation was also extended to all in the community who felt the need for some checking -up on their health and well-being.

The event started at 08:30 and the seniors were treated with coffee, sandwiches and snacks on their arrival. Later on they were offered health tests by qualified nursing staff/facilitators who verified their blood-glucose levels and blood pressure. They could also have their eyes tested. Some of the youth members volunteered to treat the seniors with a manicure and pedicure.

The programme progressed into the early afternoon untill about 14:00. By that time most of the seniors had their fill on the meals and the enjoyment of being pampered. The music served to much entertainment of all. The seniors were very thankful for everything and sincerely expressed their gratitude for  the moments of fellowship, especially those who do not get about much and are sometimes very lonely.

The Bishop B Norman who was present also thanked the seniors for their participation and the facilitators/nursing staff for their sacrifices and the care they gave.
