The senior members of Sarepta congregation recently had the privilege to experience a weekend away at The Jacana Lodge in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.

The seniors favourite highlight of the trip was the aqua exercise in the pool. Prizes were given to Mr. Issy Dearham and Ms. Jennifer Lang, who was the most active and vibrant.

The second highlight for the seniors was the manicure, pedicure, massaging of hands and feet, polishing of nails, and hair. In order to prepare them for the Mr. and Ms. Congeniality competition, the seniors walked their walk for the runway show. Issy Dearham was crowned Mr. Congeniality and Doreen Didlof walked off with the Ms. Congeniality prize.

After the runway show, everyone in the lodge gathered to watch the rugby on their nearest television. 

On Sunday, the seniors watched the transmission service broadcast by District Apostle John Kriel from Dinwiddie congregation. After service, the Rector of Sarepta congregation, Shepherd Collin Simons, served the seniors with Holy Communion. The seniors ate lunch and then made their way to the bus and prayed for a safe journey back to Sarepta congregation.
