On Sunday 22 October 2023, Shepherd Shawn Adonis, the District Rector of Rocklands District, visited Westridge Congregation. During the divine service, the retried Priest Karel (Kallie) and his wife Marie Jansen received their 50th wedding anniversary blessing. The District Orchestra also had their playout, which further enhanced this special day.

The Bible word for the divine service was taken from John 5:39.

After the celebration of Holy Communion, the soloist, accompanied by a trumpeter, prepared the way for the couple to receive their 50th wedding anniversary. The Bible word Proverbs 3:5-6 was shared with the couple. 

After the blessed encounter, the choir closed the divine service with a bold rendition of “Behold how good and joyful.” Thereafter, the Shepherd and the couple greeted the congregation.
