On Sunday 08 October 2023, nearly 70 members of Lavistown District embarked on a mission trip to Laingsburg in the Hex River District. 

The group attended a divine service in Laingsburg Congregation conducted by the Apostle Gavin Van der Hoven ahead of a special music hour in the afternoon. 

As basis for the divine service, the Apostle read a Bible word from 2 Corinthians 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."

Apostle Van Der Hoven urged the congregation to continue to express their gratitude to God for His abundant love and grace. “Let us start our preparation for Thanksgiving 2024 today already!”

District Elder B Scholtz was called to serve along. 

During the divine service, 12 souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit through the act of Holy Sealing, and Deacon Nico Quinn was ordained into the Priestly ministry. 

After the service, members enjoyed special moments of fellowship together. A donation of clothing was also handed to the local Rector.
