With the special weekend of Thanksgiving ahead, members from the districts of Kraaifontein and Durbanville gathered in Northpine congregation to listen to some festive hymns as a means of preparation for the festive encounter that awaits. The music was presented by the adult and children's choirs of the two districts, alongside the orchestra.
With minutes to go before the start of the occasion, the hall was near capacity, and everyone present soon joined in song for the opening hymn. That was followed by the opening of the evening by Bishop B Adonis, who welcomed everyone warmly after his prayer.
Months of preparation began to pay off as the choir and organist performed their first hymns, followed by two male choir hymns. Thereafter, the orchestra played their part, and next up was the children's choir, whose smiles and joy stirred the audience. In the closing address, Apostle G van der Hoven fondly remarked on the festivity that they added.
The importance of an attitude of gratitude was impactfully conveyed, and everyone received well wishes ahead of what promises to be a blessed experience of Thanksgiving. The Apostle and Bishop ended the evening by greeting members in attendance, and with that, the excitement for this blessed season was further established, and the atmosphere concluded as one of welcome anticipation.
