During August and September, the addiction family support facilitation programme took place. The training programme was facilitated by the Masakhe foundation.
The Rector, Community Evangelist Wayne Myburgh, coordinators, Bianca Groves and Claire Hoffman, attended this 6-week virtual training programme.
The sisters said they found the training very interesting and helpful, yet also very emotional. Claire stated, "I am thankful for the opportunity and filled with joy for the inspiring messages received from leadership”.
"This will add great value to the congregation and assist us in reaching out to our members and giving them the required support to overcome these challenges. I must emphasise that we will only facilitate the process. There are qualified counsellors who assist the families further. I'm thankful that we now have these facilitators in the congregation. We will send another group of ministers and coordinators on the next training programme, " comments the Rector.
On completion of the programme, they received certificates from the Masakhe Foundation, acknowledging their achievement.
