On Sunday 27 August 2023, Apostle Gavin van der Hoven served Optenhorst congregation.

As a basis for the divine service, the Apostle used a Bible word out of Proverbs 24:16, "For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity."

The Rector, Priest Arno Janse van Rensburg, was also called to serve along.

During the divine service, 2 souls received the gift of the Holy Spirit through the act of Holy Sealing.

Priest Cedric Steyn was also placed in retirement.The Apostle thanked him for all his labours of love.

Priest Arno Janse van Rensburg was also released from his mandate as Rector of Optenhorst, and he will serve as a section Priest in the congregation.

Furthermore, Priest Ralston Daniels was appointed as the new Rector of Optenhorst congregation.

The choir concluded the divine service with a beautiful rendition of Almighty God, how wondrous is thy work.
