On Sunday 20 August 2023, Lavistown District hosted a Music Hour at Lavistown church.
Those in attendance enjoyed a varied programme, including a guest performance by the South African Youth Choir.
Musical delights included Ivan Diedericks’ ‘Therefore the redeemed of the Lord’, The Lord’s Prayer’ by Nigel Isaacs, ‘Hands always praying’ by George Becker, and ‘Hear my prayer’, by our very own Brandon Witbooi (a deacon in Sidneyvale Congregation).
Presented by the adult choir, children’s choir, and orchestra, the concert was in aid of musical instruments.
At the end of the concert, District Elder B Scholtz thanked the audience for their support and conveyed a special thanks to the musicians for their sacrifices and for bringing joy through music.
