A divine service for the Islands!

On Sunday 13 August 2023, Apostle Bradley Bourne held a divine service for members residing on the islands of St Helena, Falklands as well as Ascension. He was accompanied by Bishops Grant James and Leon Ravell.

This divine service was specially transmitted to the congregants via Zoom broadcast from the Strand North Congregation at 14h00 on Sunday afternoon to accommodate the various time zones.

A small choir and orchestra ensemble provided beautiful music pieces to add to the festive hour.
The Bible word for the divine service was taken from Luke 12:32.

After the divine service, the Apostle was able to interact with the members via the broadcast. Some fun facts were shared by our members, such as, Jonathan the 200-year-old Tortoise (St. Helena), making him one of the oldest animals alive. There are certainly enough Penguins on the Falkland Island if their daily newspaper is called “Penguin News” and on the Ascension Island, the only school on the island is called “Two Boats” school.

The members of Ascension Island were present in Strand North. The members of the Falkland Island gathered in their home congregation, and the members of St Helena gathered in their church building.
A truly unifying and blessed encounter!
