Closing of Salt River Congregation

On 10 August 2023, Salt River congregation gathered for their final divine service in the church building. From 13 Sunday August 2023, the congregation will amalgamate with Observatory Congregation.

Current and previous ministers and members of Salt River gathered for the special divine service. Salt River congregation was formed in 1935 under the leadership of Community Evangelist Harry Collins who later served as their first Rector.

Community Evangelist Jason Small conducted the final divine service based on the Bible word Proverbs 15:1. Despite the sadness of the congregation's closure, the message of Christ’s love remained the focus and encouragement for the congregation.

In closing, the District Rector thanked everyone for their service and encouraged them to reflect on the many blessings bestowed over the decades and to carry on serving the Lord in their new congregation.
