On Saturday, 29 July 2023, Stellenbosch District had a Choir and Orchestra Conductor Workshop, which left the music leaders in the District speechless. Deacon Damian Philander who presented the workshop gave somesome useful hints to the choir and orchestra conductors. He covered the following aspects:

· their preparatory gestures,

· the importance of being well-prepared,

· connecting with the choir before starting,

· telling a story through the music, and much more.

The conductors in the District left the workshop energized, excited, and ready to apply what they had been taught. All the feedback was positive, but a few stood out. A conductor said, "I am so excited to take choir tomorrow. I cannot wait to try my new tips!". Deacon Philander has expressed the desire to have another workshop in the near future, so we look forward to what the future holds.
