Thursday 10 August 2023 was a special day for the members of Devon Park congregation as District Apostle J Kriel served the congregation.
Beautiful orchestral, organ and choir music created a festive atmosphere while the members filled the hall in anticipation of the heavenly blessings.
Then the moment arrived: District Apostle Kriel walked to the altar while the congregation boisterously sang “Forth, forth my heart to heaven.”
The Bible word for the divine service was taken from Luke 12: 32, “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
The choir beautifully rendered a hymn, “The Lord is good”, whereafter the District Apostle remarked, that the hymn touches the heart and said that the Lord is good, but that we need to recognise the goodness that we want is not always the goodness that the Lord gives.
Apostle Neville Williams and District Elder Theo Wagenaar were called to serve along.
After the closing prayer, the choir delivered a powerful rendition of “We shall remain united”, thereby concluding a most blessed and unforgettable time in the house of God.
