Apostle Gavin Van Der Hoven visited the congregation of Reiersvlei in Worcester on Wednesday 29 June 2023.
The excited and well-prepared congregation braved cold and wet weather for their first glimpse and teaching of the Apostle.
Accompanied by Community Evangelist Douglas Norman, the Apostle was welcomed by Bishop Cook and the Rector of Reiersvlei Community Evangelist Cornell Piedt. Also in attendance were all the Rectors of the Worcester district.
As basis for the divine service, Revelation 1:17a - 18 was used:
"Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."
During the divine service, 17 souls, among them 5 adults were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle then placed the Priest Henry Swarts into retirement and ordained 2 Deacons for the congregation.
