After months of planning and preparation, Lentegeur congregation's young people embarked on a weekend outing from Friday 02-04 June 2023 to Groot Drakenstein cultural centre in Simodium, Paarl.
The young people of Lentegeur congregation and Woodlands district made up a total of 58 young people with 9 adults and ministers. This outing also coincided with youth month and the build up to Youth Day on June 16th.
On Friday, the excited young people met at Lentegeur congregation and departed. On arrival and after unpacking the bus, the young people partook in some ice breakers followed by fellowship.
Saturday morning they were woken up for a drill session and 3,5km walk through the Simodium area. After breakfast, they had a presentation on Youth day, faith, the New Apostolic church and Cybercrime. The rest of the day was spent playing soccer, board games, swimming, and free time. Lunch was prepared by the young people themselves in braaiing and preparing their own burgers. After supper, they all gathered in the hall and had a mini choir practice in preparation for divine service the next day.
Sunday morning after cleaning up, they all enjoyed doughnuts and coffee. After a lovely scenic drive, the group arrived at Bloomsbury congregation in Paarl. After the divine service, the group embarked on an excursion to Taal monument. They returned to Bloomsbury congregation for some fellowship and lunch with their young people.
