Sorrow will be turned into joy

Sunday, 4 June 2023, brought joy to the members of La Motte, Wemmershoek and Franschhoek as they gathered in the school hall of Franschhoek High School as a combined congregation awaiting the visit of Apostle Peter Lambert.

As basis for the divine service, the Apostle used a Bible word recorded in John 16:20.

Before the celebration of Holy Communion, 10 babies, 4 children and 4 adults were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

During the divine service, Priests Jacobus Hendricks and Henry Jacobs, both of Franschhoek congregation, were placed into retirement. The Apostle thanked them for their labours of love over the years.

The congregation then witnessed the termination of the Rector mandates of Community Evangelist Manfred Jacobs and Charles Leibrandt as well as Priest James Eksteen.

Priest Jaco Parson was then appointed Rector of La Motte, Priest Leon Lawrence was appointed Rector of Franschhoek and Priest Jonathan Pietersen was appointed Rector of Wemmershoek.
