Placing ourselves in God’s hands

District Apostle J Kriel conducted a divine service for the congregations of Nelspruit District at Emjindini in Barberton, on 20 April 2023 in his visit to the Mpumalanga East Apostle Area.

The Apostle Mabaso, Bishops Milazi, Ndubane and some local ministers accompanied the District Apostle.

Acts 7:59B, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” was used as the basis for the divine service. The District Apostle introduced the sermon by echoing the message of the choir’s opening hymn, ‘Hands always praying’, affirming that hands should be used for giving and praying.

The District Apostle explained that Deacon Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit. This enabled him to be a tool in God’s hands. He proclaimed the true gospel even when the high priests and Pharisees accused him of blasphemy. He continued to proclaim the good news even when they stoned him.

The District Apostle then exhorted the members to

  • let the Holy Spirit rule our lives
  • proclaim the gospel to all just like Deacon Stephen did
  • place ourselves in God’s hands so that He can form and shape us and
  • allow ourselves to be tools in God’s hands so that we can be a help to our neighbours, brothers and sisters in need.

Bishop Ndubane was called upon to serve.

The congregation experienced a blessed divine service, after which the District Apostle took time to greet the members.
