A joyful congregation filled the auditorium of Wentworth Congregation on 16 April 2023, as the congregations of Durban South District welcomed District Apostle J Kriel into the area.
The District Apostle was accompanied by the District Apostle Helper Mkhwanazi and Bishop Shabangu.
The District Apostle based the divine service on the Bible word Psalm 31:5 [a portion], “Into Your hand I commit my spirit.”
The District Apostle implored the congregation to trust God and stand by Him, reminding them of the opening hymn that was sung, "Jesus never fails".
The District Apostle told the congregation that:
- We must commit our lives to Jesus
- God is faithful
- God has chosen us to be a tool in His hands
- We must think of the needs of our neighbour
- We are and remain in the Lord's hands
- We must allow Him to shape us.
Bishop Shabangu was called upon to serve along.
After the divine service, the District Apostle greeted the congregants, before flying back home to Cape Town.
