District Apostle J Kriel's visit to Durban in April 2023 began on Thursday, 13 April 2023, when he held a divine service in Sydenham Congregation.
A joyful atmosphere had been abuzz in anticipation of the District Apostle's visit, as orchestra and choir members began their practices for the midweek divine service.
The congregation gathered at Sydenham, including members from Durban North, Phoenix, Mariannridge, Pinetown, Durban Central and Umbilo.
The District Apostle was accompanied by the District Apostle Helper M Mkhwanazi.
The Bible word for the divine service was taken from Luke 24:31-33, ‘Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,’.
The District Apostle reminded the congregation that Jesus turns to those who are sad, disappointed and tired, and wants to help them. He encouraged the congregation to tell God when they are weary and sad.
District Apostle Helper M Mkhwanazi was also called to serve along.
