On Saturday morning 1 April 2023, District Apostle J Kriel conducted a divine service in Springbok Congregation for the district of Springbok.
The District Apostle was accompanied by Apostle G Van Der Hoven and Bishops B Adonis and G Kotze. Members from Port Nolleth, Kuboes, Pofadder, Kamieskroon, Bitterfontein and other regions were in attendance.
The Bible word Luke 19: 41-42 served as the basis for the divine service, "Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, ′If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.’"
The key message was that the Lord needs all of us in His work. The District Apostle encouraged the congregation to always be available in God's work and thanked everyone for the sacrifices they have made thus far.
After the divine service, the District Apostle wished the members a blessed Passiontide. To the delight of many, he also announced that he would be available to greet those who had the time.
On Sunday morning 2 April 2023, District Apostle J Kriel conducted the Palm Sunday divine service for the district of Vredendal, at a municipal hall in Vredendal. The District Apostle was accompanied by the Apostle G Van Der Hoven and the Bishops B Adonis and G Kotze.
The Bible word Mark 9 :31-32 served as the basis for the divine service, “For He taught His disciples and said to them, ‘The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.’ But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.”
The key message was about when Jesus told the disciples about His suffering, death, and resurrection, how they reacted in different ways. The question posed to believers was how do we react to the Spirit’s proclamations?
Members from the areas of Calvinia, Klawer, Vanrhynsdorp, Citrusdal, Clainwilliam, Nieuwoudtville travelled long distances to attend the divine service.
After the divine service, the District Apostle took time to greet the congregation.
