Great excitement filled the young people from the Woodlands and Grassy Park districts as they embarked on the much-awaited one-day mission trip to Saldanha that saw over 470 young people, ministers, and supporting members from across the two areas take on the journey of approximately 156 kilometers to the towns surrounding Saldanha Bay, on Sunday 12 March 2023.

The area is part of the West Coast area of Apostle Gavin Van Der Hoven. A total of eleven congregations were served by the visiting Rectors of the two districts, led by the District Rector Clarence Cookson.

The Sunday morning divine service was followed by a visit to two outreach facilities close to the Vredenburg congregations, where joy was brought through a word of encouragement and singing to the residents of these communities. A music hour, which was the highlight of the day, took place at the Saldanha Bay all-purpose centre, where the young people's choir and orchestra entertained the audience. A handover of much-needed non-perishable food items and blankets was then presented to District Rector Errol Jackson, on behalf of the Masakhe Foundation and the young people.
