Music development in Gqeberha-Karoo

The music team of the Ferwood Park district in the Gqeberha-Karoo Apostle area started a music development programme for children as a means to grow God's work and keep the young active by learning to play an instrument.

The team saw interest from congregations in their area as well as neighbouring districts and other denominations .

The initiative started in the middle of 2022, with the hope of building our congregations post-covid.

The ages of the learner musicians range from children as young as 6 to adults of 60 years. The classes consist of recorders, piano, flute, trumpet, violin, clarinet and the very popular class, the drum selection.

The aim is to have concerts as a way to showcase to the learners what they have learnt. The concerts will also assist in the development of the learners' confidence.
