Yuletide and merriment were the order of the day on Saturday 19 November 2022. The Senior members of the Ekurhuleni District were treated to a spectacular Christmas Luncheon at the Kenmekaar Dienssentrum in Nigel. 

The event was organised by the passionate coordinators of the district who were assisted by the young people.  In attendance was the District Rector Alex Mac Donald who asked for the Lord’s hand of blessing at the commencement of the event. Thereafter, Priest Renier Vermeulen took over the mantle as host and comedian with an everlasting reserve of holiday jokes drawn on at timely intervals and opportune moments delighting those gathered.

He was accompanied by a musical and instrumental ensemble who peppered the event with festive favourites from yesteryear. Great food, good conversations, laughter, spontaneous song, Christmas carols as well as a photo booth where beautiful memories could be made contributed to wonderful moments of fellowship and joy for all present. One of the youngest attendees drew random names of the seniors. The winners were presented with goody bags and donated gifts for the event.
