In support of the scheduled Confirmation classes that take place on Sundays, the District Rector of Stellenbosch District, District Evangelist W Cicilie appointed Brother Corné Hendricks as a mentor to the confirmands.

His role is to determine the needs of the confirmands leading up to their confirmation day. These needs include being academic, social, mental as well as spiritual.

On Monday 10 October and 17 October, the confirmands of the district met in two venues for their first session with their mentor.

The District Rector opened the session with a spiritual portion recorded in 1 Timothy 4:12: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

The Confirmands showed much interest in this new venture and participated well in the activities presented. During the month of November, a session on mental health is planned for the confirmands.
