On Saturday 8 October 2022, the Senior members of Ekurhuleni East, West and Johannesburg East districts gathered in great anticipation of a long-awaited fellowship with the Apostle J Joubert at the Bez Valley Congregation. A powerful atmosphere of joy and expectation was experienced even before the service began. Many had not seen each other due to the health concerns.
As basis for the divine service, Apostle Joubert used the Bible word 1 Thessalonians 1: 2 – 4, “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God”
The Apostle thanked the seniors for their labours of love and sacrifice, and for their example of steadfastness in the work of God. During the sermon, the Apostle also likened the paths of many present to that of the faithful servant pioneers and handmaidens of the early times. Even though they are retired, they are still standing as pillars of strength, ministering through prayers and intercession on behalf of all God’s children.
After the divine service, the Apostle spent a few moments enjoying the fellowship provided for the seniors by the hosting district.
