The young people of uMthatha district joined together in Heritage Day celebrations at Tombo, Port st John's for the weekend of 24-25 September 2022.
Young people from Mngazana, Malungeni, Lindile and Mthatha Congregations arrived in the morning. After the welcoming prayer, they held a choir practice in preparation for the Sunday divine service.
The young people had an opportunity to visit a local radio station at Sajonisi Youth Radio station and were able to see how broadcasting works. This was an educational moment for the young people, some even mentioned how they are now inspired to choose careers in broadcasting. They also used the opportunity to invite guests from around Tombo for the divine service.
Later that day, the young people visited some of Port st John's tourist attractions such as uMzimvubu river. They also visited the Port st John's airstrip, where aeroplanes used to land. They got a chance to see the military base and finished the day at the beach with a braai.
On Sunday the 25th; the divine service was conducted by apostle NT Nene. After the service, our young people had a fellowship with the Apostle, our District Elder and all the ministers before getting on their way to their respective congregations.
