Earnest prayers of 17 years by the members of Westbank Central Congregation came to fruition when District Apostle J Kriel served the congregation on Wednesday 24 August 2022.
The District Apostle was accompanied by Apostle P Lambert, the Bishops J Cook and L Ravell, along with all the District Rectors and the Rectors of Kuils River District.
On a cold and windy Wednesday evening, the members of the congregation filled the hall, while beautiful musical renditions by the choir and orchestra prepared their hearts for the blessings from on high.
As the District Apostle entered the parking area, a group of Sunday School children and teachers welcomed him heartily into the congregation.
The love and warmth of the congregation could be felt by all who were present.
The Bible word for the divine service was taken out of Lamentations 2 a portion of verse 19: “Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.”
The District Apostle told the congregation that he was happy to be amid the children of God. He continued by encouraging the members to pour their hearts out to our God.
Apostle P Lambert was called to serve along.
The choir beautifully concluded the divine service with the powerful hymn, “Thanks and praise.” After the divine service, the District Apostle took time to greet the congregation.
The visit of the District Apostle will live on in the hearts of all the members that attended this special divine service.
