On Wednesday 20 July 2022, District Apostle J Kriel visited Klapmuts Congregation.
Amid the extreme cold temperature in the area, the District Apostle brought warmth and clarity in his serving. The District Apostle outlined the difference between righteousness from a human perspective versus the righteousness from God’s perspective, using Matthew 5: 6 as a basis. “Righteousness is to do what is right in the sight of God and not to seek self-satisfaction”, the District Apostle went on to say. “This Bible word which forms part of the Beatitudes by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount seeks to direct our paths, in order for us to make wise decisions that are pleasing to God first and foremost”, District Apostle remarked.
During the divine service, the congregation witnessed the changing in leadership at the helm of the Stellenbosch District when the District Apostle placed District Elder Allan Jullies into well-deserved retirement after being active as a minister for 46 years. “Your District Rector laboured much, often away from home doing missionary work and serving God’s people, but always in the mind and stead of his bearers of blessing.” After sincerely thanking the wife and daughter of the District Elder for their support and prayers, the District Apostle perfectly summed up the ministerial life of District Elder Jullies as follows: “If you wanted anything to be done, Allan was your guy – ever ready!”
The District Apostle then appointed District Evangelist Wayne Cicilie as the new District Rector for Stellenbosch District. The choir concluded the festive and blessed divine service with the rendition of “Praise ye the Lord, all ye nations”.
