On Saturday 9 July 2022, a Confirmation teachers' workshop for the Gqeberha-Karoo Apostle Area was held in Palmridge Congregation. Teachers from the outlying areas were connected via Zoom.
Sister Shauneen Baatjies welcomed the attendees, and District Rector Donovan Erasmus opened the session with a prayer.
Sister Baatjies emphasized the importance of every Confirmand, as well as the challenges faced by the teachers and improvements that were made.
Brother Brian Esau took the group through the MIS and the importance of this tool in caring for our Confirmands.
Priest Brent Scharneck presented 3 lessons comprising faith, hope and love through the usage of visual aids. He also demonstrated the significance of capturing an audience without the use of manuals and writing materials.
The workshop was rounded off by sister Mieta Smith who spoke about the importance of the 10 Commandments and the impact it has on the lives of Confirmands.
Priest Malcolm Lewis closed the workshop with a prayer.
